since 20 years I occupy with woodcarving.
My form of expression is the sculpture. I create in spite of my daily work,
I create intuitively based on the sum of impressions and thoughts.
My intention is never precise before I start working. Sometimes a moment comes when my sculpture starts to live and starts to dictate the following gestures that are needed.
Unfortunately these moments are rare and short.
After that the end work begins which includes my skills, abilities and also my habits.
My work is inspired by the polish national art, called "swiatkarstwo".
"Swiatkarstwo" is a kind of wood carving that represents holy or other figures from the holy bible.
A very important and special role plays the representing of the afflicted, startled Jesus Christ,
who is always shown sad and reflective because of the misery and poverty of the suppressed,
suffering of compulsory labour and poverty polish peasant.
